Detailed itinerary of this tour:

It’s a full day trip, so sit back and relax as we head south from Perth through the farmlands (we call them “paddocks”) with grazing cattle and idyllic coast towns along the way. We arrive at Busselton Jetty just in time for a morning tea (at own expense) as you relax and look into the distance to see how loooooong the wooden jetty is.

Going further south into the heart of Margaret River region, it’s time for a gourmet platter lunch of local produce, with complimentary beer and cider tastings at one of the region’s oldest breweries! Remember to take that lunch photo before you get too “happy” at the tastings.

Take a deep breath as we pass through the green lungs of forest as you will be needing it on more tastings now at an internationally acclaimed winery! Buy one or a few or even a carton or two of the bottles of wines you fancy during the tastings!

Nothing like a good workout next as you head for a guided tour at Mammoth Cave to view the ancient stalagmites and stalactites in the vast chambers, and be awed by the Gothic appearance the caves take on.

We head further south still, through the massive pale barked Karri trees of the Boranup Forest. This forest is actually a re-growth forest of over 100 years old, stretching several kilometres long.

Finally, we arrive at the gleaming white Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse in the Augusta region, right at the tip. You get to see the Southern Ocean and Indian Ocean meet in a rare natural phenomenon and feel the winds rush at you. Remember to say hi to “Moorine”!

And we head north on return towards the township of Margaret River for a brief stop to stretch your legs at the main street. We then continue the return journey with a light dinner break (at own expense) at a restaurant en route before heading back to Perth by 9:30 pm. Now that’s a full and fascinating day!
